Dave Neabore, founder and bass player of legendary hardcore band Dog Eat Dog, joins us this week to talk about what he’s been doing for the last decade, including writing and directing a slew of horror shorts and scoring numerous horror movie. We also go deep into Dog Eat Dog’s longevity, including how the band shaped the crossover rap/rock movement of the late ’90s, whether he regrets shifting gears on the group’s sound and their extensive success overseas.
We also discuss our favorite horror movie remakes, including Dawn of the Dead, The Fly and Halloween and why some horror movies are best left untouched. Finally, we list our favorite local haunted houses and Hambone explains how he refined his epic Ecto-cooler punch.
Dog Eat Dog are playing Blackthorn 51 in Elmhurst, NY on November 2 and Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, NJ on November 3.
Edit note: I confused the WSOU 10th Anniversary show with Hardcore Alive & Well. The latter show was the one where The Misfits practically imploded on stage. -glk-
